Thinking of joining a club? Or even better, starting one? Scholastica encourages activity clubs solely run by the students. Scholasticans have already started forming clubs and are working towards showcasing their interests.
What is a school activity club?
School clubs are a great opportunity for students to try out a wide variety of activities with friends and explore whatever excites them. Moreover, it helps enrich the students’ university application if he/she plans to study abroad.
If you feel there is no opportunity provided by the school to pursue an interest you may have, and if you are an avid learner you can start a club focused on that particular interest. For example, let’s say you enjoy photography, but the school does not provide photography classes. In that case, you may consider starting a photography club. This also helps you to meet people with similar interests.
Scholastica activity clubs are run by students and consist of at least 15 members. The president, the vice president, the member secretary, the strategist and the treasurer are the student leaders of the club and help guide the members throughout the activities.Joining these clubs gives students a sense of responsibility. They develop new skills, gain leadership experience and learn to discover themselves in a greater way.
The Club fair
The club fair is a way of promoting school clubs. It was held on the 24th of July,2018, at the STM hall. Students from various clubs put up stalls and hung banners with their respective club names written on them. There were many different clubs starting from the debate club to the magazine club and the fun-filled fashion club, dance club-you name it.
Students from different grades swarmed into the STM hall and while majority were there to join in on the fun, many were enticed to sign their names in clubs. A team member from each club went up to the podium to say a few words about why they think students should join their clubs. “JOIN THE MAGAZINE CLUB!” and “DON’T MISS OUT ON THE DANCE CLUB!” they said. This helped students know more about the available clubs and decide which clubs best suit their interests. The fair was more like a portal through which all the students could enter into a world that was not just related to the books we read and the lectures that were given to us in class…It was a world were talents were being showcased and ideas were being flourished. The total number of students who joined the club surely portrays the scenario that the club fair was a massive success. Now it is the time for the clubs to start their activities and soon we will be walking in a path where dreams are not just mere dreams anymore…They will have changed into realities.
