Scholastica takes debating trophy for the 1st time

For the first time, Scholastica Mirpur has won the championship in the open category.

On the 15th of July, Bangladesh’s debating circuit found itself a new winner in DRMC. As already known by many, Scholastica Mirpur has been in the forefront of the debating circuit, but it had previously failed to fully establish itself as a true champion. However, that was to change in DRMC.

Scholastica Mirpur had sent out a team comprising of Sreyoshi, Navid, and Fardeen to DRMC. This was the first time these three had formed a team, and what a turnout it was to be. The team won 4 out of the 5 preliminary rounds, losing only to VDC 2 along the way. The team went on to brake as the 3rd breaking team, and from there on, there was no stopping them. The team was to face off again against VDC 2 in the finals, and having already lost to them, they were considered to be underdogs. However, it was certain that the final was to be an intense one, and it truly lived up to it. After an intense match up which had many people split in opinion, Scholastica’s team was to be crowned victorious. Scholastica Mirpur had just won. Our very own Kazi Fardeen Ishraq was also voted as the tournament’s best speaker.

Not only that, but Scholastica Mirpur’s very own Jubayer Ibn Hamid had also participated in the World School Debating Championship as a representative of Bangladesh. The team had broke and made it to the quarters.

Scholastica’s Debating Society seems to be up on the rise with many bright and well-established talents living up to the expectations burdened on them.

The Stallion wishes the best for Scholastica Debating Society’s future and congratulates them on their recent success!
